Holding Pattern
This week has been quite a lot
I’m feeling all mush brained after taking on a new role at work and the ensuing whirlwind week of training, meeting new people, and taking on a completely new work flow. So here’s a song I’ve been listening to a lot lately.
Something about Dinah’s smokey tremolo, the cool trailing snare, ponderous bass, with the light guitar, and airy strings and vocals…
The song is a straightforward new romance story, but I think the message fits another context. In general, life is always changing. We can be happy or sad, or experiencing any of a myriad of different things, and given a few moments or 24 hours, well, oh what a difference.
I’ve been thinking a lot about the title of my earlier post, “What does it mean to be from somewhere?” There is a story in that phrase, and it started burbling to the surface last night. So I’m going to go tinker with that. But first, I need to read some Dutch.
Enjoy the song.
